lyrics

I once had a chat with
A fancy railway man he had
Jewels hanging under his brain

But despite the ornaments
His soul was a parlor trick
With mirrors working overtime to ape

And in his time of solitude
His heart of hearts could come through
It's songs of Broadway-esque designs
Would shine through as the biggest smile

He said,
There's no where I need to run
I don't need to hide under the sun
I was never really here

My mind was always in the stars
Treasuring vicarious memoirs
I was never really here

Maybe there was some pain his
Grief had stillness to blame
While he traversed the globe on his train

Perhaps the sun had dried
All that kept his thoughts inside
Or maybe no vacancies remained

And in his time of solitude
His heart of hearts could come through
It's songs of Broadway-esque designs
Would shine through as the biggest smile
In crystallized unclarity
His soul began to look like all the
Things that I had hid inside
To become what I don't want to be

Ali Suhail Karachi, Pakistan

Hi, I'm Ali. I make music in a room in a house in Karachi in Pakistan. In fact, that's most of what I do. I've been making music since I was a teenager, learning from The Beatles, The Foo Fighters, Death Cab For Cutie, Freelance Whales, Pomplamoose etc. These albums that I've written are an amalgamation of my experiences and perception of the world and life. I hope they make people happy. ... more
